资源简介:
This study aims to provide a comprehensive molecular perspective on the intricate relationship between sarcopenia and osteoporosis, two prevalent conditions in the aging population characterized by decreased muscle mass and bone density, respectively. By integrating proteomic and transcriptomic data, the research endeavors to unravel the complex molecular interplay and underlying mechanisms contributing to the co-occurrence of these conditions in the elderly. Employing advanced techniques like high-throughput sequencing and label-free proteomics, the study investigates bone and muscle tissues from patients with osteoporosis and those suffering from both osteoporosis and sarcopenia. It seeks to identify differentially expressed genes and proteins, with a focus on pathways such as oxidative-reduction balance, cellular metabolism, and immune response, that are critical in the progression of these diseases. The significance of the study lies in its potential to pinpoint novel therapeutic targets and intervention pathways, offering insights into the NF-kappa B signaling and osteoclast differentiation pathways, which are crucial in osteosarcopenia. Ultimately, the research aims to enhance our understanding of the complex dynamics between skeletal and muscular health in the elderly, paving the way for improved treatment and management strategies for these age-related diseases.
