White-bellied Heron Breeding Data 2016 - 2025

This dataset contains breeding records of the Critically Endangered White-bellied Heron (Ardea insignis) from Bhutan for 2016–2025. The data document nest location, river, first egg-laying date, clutch number, clutch size, number of hatchlings, number of fledglings, and breeding outcome for each nesting attempt. These data were compiled to support analyses of temporal variation and declining breeding success in White-bellied Heron populations. Column definitions: location = nest site location river = river associated with the nest site first_egg_day = date the first egg was laid clutch_no = nesting attempt order (1 = first attempt; 2 = re-nesting attempt) clutch_size = total number of eggs recorded no_hatchling = total number of chicks hatched no_fledgling = total number of chicks fledged outcome = breeding outcome (Success or Fail) Success is defined as at least one chick successfully fledging from the nest.
