资源简介:
The primary objective of the study was to visualize the efficiency of n-decane (non-wetting phase) displacement in porous sandstones during brine injection. The experiments conducted serve as an analogue to understand the fluid dynamics during enhanced oil recovery from porous reservoirs. Bentheimer sandstone was used as a representative porous sandstone reservoir for these experiments. The steady state displacement of decane after injecting brine at sequentially increasing flow-rates were imaged using the EMCT. To understand the effect of salinity on the displacement efficiency, we also used brines of two different salinity. A dry and decane saturated scan were acquired in each case as reference. Decane was doped with 20% iododecane to increase the contrast between brine and decane. Four different flow-rates of brine were selected for the experiments to displace n-decane out of the pore spaces: 0.001 ml/min, 0.01 ml/min, 0.1 ml/min and 1 ml/min.
