Granular Microbial Preparation 2019 is a hydrogen-producing microbial consortium developed in GJUST, Hisar (Haryana), India under the Indo-Ukraine collaborative project between Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, and the Institute of Microbiology & Virology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine sponsored by Department of Science Technology (DST), India. The consortium preparation consists of spore-forming obligate anaerobes with improved hydrogen production efficiency using multi-component municipal waste as substrate. GMP2019 can decompose about 94% of multicomponent municipal waste in 10 days producing 82 ml of Hydrogen per gram of dry weight. Preparation was isolated and developed from sewage sludge samples collected from the water treatment plant, GJUS&T, Hisar (Haryana, India).
