Age in Sept or OCT = age in years since first emergence from natal burrow-entrance = 0.5 years for WTPDs that first emerged from natal burrow-entrance as weanlings in previous May or June This file contains a single data point for each WTPD juvenile These data used for Figure 14.17 in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 12 March 2025. Blank cell = <.> = missing data All body masses in GRAMS No data for UPDs, because I never captured UPDs in September or October Sample sizes are above the standard errors (SEM lines) above bars in Fig 14.17. All data are from the single WTPD study-colony at the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge near Walden Colorado. No data on survivorship of 5-month old WTPD juveniles in this file Notice that I captured few older (>=1.5 years) WTPDs in September or October. Almost all of the older WTPDs were already hibernating in September or October. By contrast, many GPDs not hibernating in September and October. NO INFORMATION on this issue for UPDs, because I never captured UPDs in September or October For Fig 14.17 for WTPDs, the comparison is for body mass of male juveniles in October (N = 86) vs body mass of female juveniles in October (N = 115).
