Human atherosclerotic carotid tissue sequencing

To further investigate the therapeutic efficacy of modified-cyclodextrin and QT-NP against human atherosclerotic carotid plaque, the plaques were obtained from patients (n= 6) after carotid endarterectomy, and divided into two pieces of equal size . One of plaque piece was treated with 10 mM of modified-cyclodextrin and 0.5 mM of QT-NP for 24 h, and the other plaque piece was incubated with PBS as control group. The experimental results indicated that modified-cyclodextrin and QT-NP could also efficiently reduced atherosclerotic plaque in humans via cholesterol dissolution and anti-inflammation effect. In addition, transcriptome analysis on human atherosclerotic carotid tissue was conducted to confirm our experimental results.
