Influence of atorvastatin treatment on gene expression in muscle tissues

This study aimed to investigate the effects of atorvastatin on gene transcription in the skeletal muscles of Mus musculus to identify the mechanisms underlying statin-induced myopathy. Mice were treated for one month with atorvastatin (10 mg atorvastatin per kg of body weight for 25-g mouse) or vehicle alone. Then, whole transcriptome sequencing was performed.
