Streptococcus iniae QMA0248 genome sequencing and assembly

Streptococcus iniae is an important fish pathogen causing mortality of a wide range of fish species in different water environments worldwide. Several human infections by contaminated fish have also been reported. This isolate is from a diseased barramundi (Lates calcarifer) from South Australia in 2009. This is a high quality PacBio reference genome that includes manual annotations for nearly 100 insertion sequences.
