MDA-MB-468 and MCF-7 human breast cancer cell lines were treated with 0.5 and 2 mM of aspirin or salicylic acid for 1 and 24 hours. Gene expression levels were analyzed by targeted amplicon-based sequencing with a custom Ion Ampliseq RNA panel consisting of 66 genes. Genes encoding the components of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway and other cancer-related genes were included in the panel.
