资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school are also recorded; this last column is also used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission. In this series the boys’ and girls’ entries are numbered separately until 1964; the girls’ entries for 1965 are numbered in sequence with the boys’ entries, and a new system of numbering begins with the second admission for 1966 - which system was not, however, continued, as the school closed at the end of that year. In 1965 the practice also begins of starting a new double-page opening for each new school year, although the first admission of 1966 has been inadvertently recorded on the same page as those for 1964. 178 pupils were admitted to the school during its thirty-three years of operation, the last of them a mere eight days before it closed.A number of completed Applications for Enrolment and Pupil Transfer Forms are inserted loose at the back of this volume.
