Bipartite quantitative matrix of pollination interactions in the Matarredonda páramo

The database contains records of pollinator visits to flowers of 36 angiosperm species during 2021, 2022, and 2023 in the Matarredonda páramo, located in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia. This frequency matrix shows the morphospecies of pollinators in the columns and the studied plant species in the rows. In total, the database includes 333 interactions, reporting 90 pollinator morphospecies, including hummingbirds, bats, hymenoptera, diptera, lepidoptera, coleoptera, and hemiptera. Many of the reported interactions may be new for the páramo, increasing our understanding of pollination interactions in the ecosystem. This allows us to continue studying the ecology of flowering plants in Colombian páramos and generate new research questions. Additionally, this data helped construct the first pollination network for Colombian páramos, which could serve as a foundation for future monitoring efforts. Finally, with this information, future management plans can be developed to conserve the páramo and its species.
