It curates crystal structure data that have undergone rigorous quality inspections since 1913. Approximately 12,000 new structures are added annually, and it contains comprehensive information including unit cell parameters, space groups, atomic parameters and other relevant details. This database is applicable to research fields such as chemistry, physics, materials science and other related disciplines. FIZ Karlsruhe is responsible for its development, maintenance and quality control.
