Diet-induced obesity promotes infection by impairment of the innate antimicrobial defense function of dermal adipocyte progenitors

We report the transcriptomes of single cells isolated from whole skin of wild type B6 male mice fed a standard or 60% high fat diet 48-hours after mock- or S. aureus-infection. Overall design: Wild type B6 male mice fed a standard or 60% high fat diet ad libitum were mock- or S. aureus-infected. Two days post-infection whole skin samples were collected and processed for 3'-end single cell RNA-sequencing.
