Whole-genome sequencing of Labrador retriever dog family including sire (LAB1) and dam (LAB2) and their female offspring (LAB3) and male offspring (LAB4). Both offspring were affected with retinopathy. Sequencing libraries (350 bp and 550 bp) were constructed from genomic DNA using Illumina TruSeq DNA PCR-Free Library Prep protocols. The libraries were multiplexed and sequenced on a NextSeq500 instrument (Illumina) for 100 x 2 and 150 x 2 cycles using the High Output Kit and High Output Kit v2, respectively. The raw base calls were de-multiplexed and converted to fastq files using bcl2fastq v.2.15.0 (Illumina). The two sequencing runs from each individual were merged, trimmed for adapters and low-quality bases using Trimmomatic v.0.323 and aligned to the canine reference genome CanFam3.1 using Burrows-Wheeler Aligner (BWA) v.0.7.84.
