Household density with good metropolitan facilities – Flanders – Condition 2013

This map indicator shows, per ha, the number of households that are well or very well equipped with metropolitan bicycle stand. The map showing the level of ‘basic services per ha’ is divided into 4 categories: medium, limited, good and very well. Only for those areas that are well and very well predicted, the map of households 2013 is used and thus limited to those areas. As a result, households that are underserved or moderately served by metropolitan facilities are not shown. This study was carried out by VITO on behalf of the Department of Space Flanders and published on 29-02-2016. The population dataset describes the location and the number of inhabitants per address using a point file. This file (beta-version) was created by the Flanders Information Agency (AIV) from data from the Rijksregister (on the date of 2 March 2013). The locations were determined by geocoding of the addresses based on crab (version 2013). The number of addresses in the dataset was used as a proxy for the number of households. On the basis of the points file of the AIV, the number of households per hectare was initially calculated by summing the number of objects in the address dataset per hectare cell. The largest outliers were removed from the map.
