Effect of elastin insufficiency on gene expression in cultured human aortic smooth muscle cells

Defective elastin induces aortic smooth muscle cell hyperproliferation. To elucidate gene expression changes with elastin insufficiency, bulk RNA-seq was performed on cultured human aortic smooth muscle cells treated with siRNA targeting elastin. Overall design: Cultured human aortic smooth muscle cells were treated with scrambled RNA or siRNA-targeting elastin. Total RNA was extracted 72 hours after siRNA transfection and subjected to bulk RNA-seq.
