Global outstanding sustainable debt 2023, by instrument

In recent years, sustainable debt instruments have been expanding and growing in popularity. As of 2023, the total outstanding value of sustainable debt instruments amounted to over six trillion U.S. dollars. The most popular instrument were green bonds, which accounted for more than one third of the total outstanding sustainable debt worldwide.
