NRS-20712 | Registers of Admission [Bennett Road Public School]

Admission registers recorded basic details about children admitted to the school as well as information about their parents or guardians. The registers also record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. The early volumes of this series have separate pages for girls and boys; in registers that date from the early 1960's the genders are not separately entered.These volumes contain information pertaining to each student including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school is also recorded. In early volumes, the following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation.Admission registers in paper format ceased in 1999 when the department moved to recording enrolment details in electronic format.This school continued to maintain the paper volume beyond that date.
