资源简介:
Flows at Fort Peck Dam, Montana, were modified in 2024 to include additions of warm epilimnetic reservoir releases over the spillway of the dam as part of a series of flow tests to improve habitat conditions in the Upper Missouri River for pallid sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus albus). We measured velocity and discharge on June 22 and June 23 in the Upper Missouri River and Fort Peck Dam spillway in advance of an experimental release of 354,000 1-day post-hatch pallid sturgeon free embryos in the warmer spillway outflows. Velocity data was collected using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) in 2023 with real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receiver and a real-time correction network. Data provide discharge and velocity information for understanding dispersal of pallid sturgeon free embryos in the Upper Missouri River downstream from Fort Peck Dam. This dataset includes: Velocity summary shapefiles, and raw ASCII ADCP data from transects surveyed on 6/22/2024 and 6/23/2024.
