Objective of this study is to investigate the process of back arc thrusting of the initiation of arc polarity reversal where the process is best displayed- in the region behind the eastern Sunda arc of Indonesia.The plan is to delineate the extent of the thrust zone and investigate its structure.There will also be an examination of the forearc structure in those locations where back-arc thrusting is developed to test whether unusual forearc process or crustal structure plays a role in the transmission of stre4ss across the arc system.
