Climate regions of the Czech Republic 1901-2000 (WMS)

The service displays climate areas based on observations in 1961-2000 and compared them over the years 1901-1950. The duration of the annual period was selected as a key criterion for defining the basic climatic areas according to the number of days with characteristic temperatures. For the summer period, the number of summer days was the number of ice days for the winter season. In total, 5 basic climatic areas were defined (very cold, cold, slightly warm, warm and very warm climate). Another additional figure was the average temperature of the individual seasons, which was not decisive for inclusion in a particular climate area. The basic climatic areas have been further broken down by rainfall in summer and winter. Thus, sub-areas for poor rainfall (in summer < 200 mm) or rich rainfall (in summer half year, total > 600 mm) were defined. Dedicated climatic areas and sub-regions according to temperature and rainfall characteristics have been further corrected according to terrain hypsometry.
