Guinea pig vaginal and oral swabs and fecal pellets were collected in the estrus phase of the estrus cycle and across gestation after confirmation of pregnancy. Metagenomic sequencing was performed on DNA extracted from the vaginal, oral, and fecal samples. 16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed on the vaginal samples.
