Monitoring the water clarity of lakes is essential for the sustainable development of human society. However, existing water clarity assessments in China have mostly focused on lakes with areas > 1 km2, and the monitoring periods were mainly in the 21st century. In order to improve the understanding of spatiotemporal variations in lake clarity across China, based on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud platform, a 30 m long-term LAke Water Secchi Depth (SD) dataset (LAWSD30) of China (1985–2020) was developed using Landsat series imagery and a robust water-color-parameter-based SD model. 湖泊水体透明度监测对于人类社会的可持续发展至关重要。然而,中国现有的水体透明度评估工作多聚焦于面积大于1平方千米的湖泊,且监测时段主要集中于21世纪。为深化对中国境内湖泊透明度时空变化规律的认知,本研究基于谷歌地球引擎(Google Earth Engine, GEE)云平台,利用Landsat系列遥感影像与基于水色参数的稳健透明度反演模型,构建了1985—2020年中国30米分辨率长期湖泊水体赛氏盘透明度(Secchi Depth, SD)数据集(LAWSD30)。该数据集的详细说明详见《30 m long-term LAke Water Secchi depth (SD) dataset (LAWSD30) of China (1985–2020)_Readme_V1.0.docx》。
