This is the High category of the updated draft version of the CEC Cropland Index Model created for the current 2026-2027 IRP cycle. The CEC Cropland Index Model is a suitability model that brings together soil quality, farmland designations and current existence of crops to give an overall score on the relative quality of an area to produce crops. Areas that score above the mean (high suitability for crops) are excluded for solar PV.
