Reproduction Bundle for "When Openness Stops Paying Politically: Liberalisation Settlements and Economic Nationalist Reversal"

This replication package accompanies Leszek Chajewski, “When Openness Stops Paying Politically: Liberalization Settlements and Economic Nationalist Reversal.” The package provides the data, frozen model outputs, validation scripts, source-output crosswalks, and documentation needed to reproduce and audit the empirical results reported in the manuscript and online appendices. The project studies Economic Nationalist Reversal (ENR), defined as durable institutional boundary restoration after liberalization, using a G50 risk set, event-history models, authorisation-layer specifications, robustness checks, and post-onset durability diagnostics. The bundle includes: the final consolidated online appendix; the main results body-table insert; the ENR/BPI authority and reconciliation files; the G50 hazard-panel inputs; TFP streak authority inputs; the raw Penn World Table 11.0 workbook used for TFP verification; frozen outputs for the main Appendix G / manuscript headline results; trade-clock robustness outputs; Kaplan–Meier durability outputs; sequence-likelihood diagnostics; Appendix L one-stage and field-period decomposition outputs; supplementary analysis scripts; validation reports; data dictionaries; and SHA-256 manifests. The reproduction workflow is organised around frozen-output verification and executable crosswalk checks. The included scripts verify that the reported headline statistics, robustness quantities, appendix tables, and supplementary diagnostics match the deposited frozen outputs. The package is therefore designed for audit-grade reproducibility of the deposited results and tables, while preserving the authority-register and documentation trail used to construct the final empirical vintage. The final authority vintage incorporates the Brazil S-domain reconciliation, the Appendix A–N final audit, the PWT 11.0 source inclusion, and the reproduction-grade main-results crosswalk. All included manifests were regenerated after the final updates.
