Gryllus bimaculatus genome and annotation files

Gryllus bimaculatus (Order: Orthoptera) is emerging as a significant model organism in evolutionary biology and molecular research, owing to its accessibility, rapid development, and high environmental adaptability. Here, we report a high-quality, chromosome-level genome assembly for G. bimaculatus, constructed using an integrated strategy combining PacBio HiFi, short-read sequencing, and Hi-C data. The final assembly spans 1.67 Gb, with 99.52% of the sequence anchored into 15 chromosomes. The assembly demonstrates exceptional completeness, achieving a BUSCO score of 96.70%. Subsequent annotation, supported by extensive RNA-seq data, identified 16,392 potential protein-coding genes.
