Bull rhyton

Dark, reddish-brown clay; with white coating and ocher paint. The lower part of the bull's mouth is slightly bumped. The small, thin-walled rhyton shows an asco shape with a ribbon-shaped loop handle, which attaches to the raised lip at the rear end and the neck of the bull's head. The bull's head with its horns only slightly curved forward and the eyes marked by deepened circles is worked separately and placed on the vessel. At this point, the rim of the vessel forms the lower half of the mouth, while the upper half is attached to the bull's head. The painting of the bull is very cursory. Only the front part of the vessel has a white coating, while the back half has a clay ground. Very irregularly curved lines and blobs have been applied to the light coating.
