Data Set Information:<br>This data was recorded from an integrated 4-section semiconductor laser. <br>The device is made up of 3 active sections and 1 passive section. <br>- a DFB laser section (300um), <br>- a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) section (200um), which can be operated forward biased for gain (amplified feedback) or reverse bias for absorption (feedback attenuation),<br>- a phase section (150um),<br>- a passive waveguide section (10,000um) with high reflectance coating to provide feedback.Output power time series were recorded as 3 system parameters were varied: the DFB laser current, the level of optical feedback and phase of the optical feedback.<br>- DFB laser current varied between 15mA and 50mA in steps of 0.1mA (351 values)<br>- Optical feedback level was increased by passing a forward current through the SOA section or attenuated by applying a reverse bias across the SOA section. The SOA section forward current is varied between 0mA and 10mA in 0.1mA steps (101 values) and reverse bias between 0V and 2V in 0.1V steps (21 values).<br>- Phase of the optical feedback was controlled by applying a current to the phase section. This was varied from 0mA to 7mA in steps of 1mA (8 values).The data is stored in HDF5 format. The filenames indicate the level of DFB current, phase section current (IPH) and SOA section forward current (GAS) or reverse voltage (VAS). <br>IPH$$.$$DFB##.##GAS@@.@@.h5 - where $$.$$ is the phase section current in mA, ##.## is the DFB laser section current in mA and @@.@@ is the SOA forward current in mA.<br>IPH$$.$$DFB##.##VAS@@.@@.h5 - where $$.$$ is the phase section current in mA, ##.## is the DFB laser section current in mA and @@.@@ is the SOA reverse bias in V.<br>Each file contains a single time series in the '/TimeSeries' dataset. Each of these has 3 attributes: 'DFB', 'GAS', IPH' which specify the values of the experimental parameters at which the data was captured.<br>Number of time series = 42,822 per phase section current (342,576 total)<br>Time series length = 80,000 points<br>Sampling rate = 40 GSa/s (25 ps per point)<br>Oscilloscope bandwidth = 12 GHz <br>ReferenceKane, D.
