Transcriptome of Haemophilus influenzae strains with relevance to natural competence. Haemophilus influenzae

RNA sequencing was performed using the Haemophilus influenzae research strain Rd KW20 and competence mutants derived from the KW20 strain. Samples were collected over time after growth in either supplemented brain heart infusion broth or competence-inducing MIV starvation medium. The goal of the study was to analyze the regulation of natural competence in Haemophilus influenzae in addition to trying to understand how mutants with irregular competence phenotypes exhibit their effect.
