Lab-based measurements of shell length growth of Lake Michigan quagga mussels (Dreissena rostriformis bugensis) reared under different temperature, food, and calcein exposure conditions at the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory from 2015-06-08 to 2015-12-21 (NCEI Accession 0277027)

资源简介:
This submission contains data from a 203 day laboratory study where quagga mussels, some marked with the fluoromarker calcein, were reared at two temperatures in succession (modeling summer hypolimnetic and then fall turnover temperatures) and given high or low food levels. The experiment started on 2018-06-01, and was the date of the initial shell length measurement. The first measurement of growth was taken on 2015-06-08. The mussels in both food treatments exhibited slight shell degrowth while at 5 °C and only the mussels in the high food treatment grew following the temperature increase to 12.5 °C. Exposure to calcein did not influence growth or survival. These data are in PNG and CSV formats.
