From a continuous thermal profile to a stepped one: the effect of run of river hydropower plants on the river thermal regime

There are 3 databases: One database (DailyTemperatures_Serio) reports the (Mean, Maximum, and Minimum) daily water temperatures (Tw) along the Serio River (Orobic Alps, Northern Italy) for 4 years (01/07/2018-01/07/2022) and mean daily air temperatures (Ta) in the 16 sites. The second database (Site_coordinates) reports the coordinates (WGS84) of the river sites. The third database (Model_variables) reports the variable used to build water temperature GAM models, in particular: -Tw (°C) =daily water temperature -Ta (°C) =daily air temperature -Wn=number of the week+ -L (m) =distance from the weir -D (m) =distance from the reservoir -Qs l/s) = mean daily flow in the by-passed stretch -Qd l/s) = mean daily flow in the diverted channel
