VPRS 18544 Handbooks

This series consists of handbooks created by the Preston Technical College and the Preston Institute of Technology (VA 1212). The Handbooks were annually published booklets that provided information to current and prospective students regarding the courses and facilities that were available at the institution.The Handbooks give detailed information regarding curriculum, college staff, courses, services for students, college locations, campus layout and other information as required by students undertaking or intending to undertake studies at Preston Technical College or Preston Institute of Technology. The later Handbooks also contain a brief history of the College/Institute.There are general Handbooks that cover all of the College/Institute courses, however in the years from 1970 to 1975 there are two separate editions - one for Tertiary (Institute) courses and one for Non-Tertiary (College) courses. The Handbooks for 1966 to 1968 are for the Preston Technical College.There were also separate Handbooks, not included in this series, produced for each of the individual Schools of the Institute, however their content is replicated in the consolidated handbooks in this series.A mockup handbook for 1982 was created with a Preston Institute cover, however the contents are the same as the 1981 handbook.
