We performed a comparative immunology case study of client-owned dogs to determine if immune and skin gene expression profiles in spontaneous canine chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CCLE) with concomitant systemic autoimmunity mirror those observed in human CCLE. Overall design: Gene expression was analyzed using 160 custom Nanostring probes to analyze 4 canines with Chronic Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus with concomitant systemic autoimmunity compared to 5 healthy controls (leg margin excisions).
