High Conservation Value Vegetation Restoration in the Clarence Valley - Stage 2

The Green Army team will work with the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Clarence Valley Council and community groups to restore high conservation value vegetation in and around Yuraygir National Park and at Susan Island, Grafton. Participants will control weeds (including Weeds of National Significance) Lantana, Bitou Bush, Madeira Vine & Asparagus Fern) which are degrading Littoral Rainforest, coastal habitats and Lowland Rainforest. They will propagate local plants for use in revegetation of degraded areas. The Team will assist with erosion control, beach access way and walking track improvements which protect ecosystems from human impacts. They will be involved in a field day to showcase project achievements and raise awareness of environmental values and outcomes of Green Army activities.
