Grey Nurse Shark Watch monitoring an Australian Critically Endangered species

This project has attracted 193 registered volunteers to the Grey Nurse Shark program. Many volunteers are also registered as 'site custodians' regularly monitoring known aggregation sites along Australia's east coast (NSW and Queensland). Volunteers participate in biannual surveys conducted in Summer and Winter, submitting their reports and photos on-line to the GNS Watch website hosted by Reef Check Australia. Funding will enable the project group to support a further year's monitoring, analysis and dissemination of data to volunteers and stakeholders and increase knowledge about this Critically Endangered species.
