资源简介:
Winter migration routes of adelie penguins were investigated by attaching transmitters to penguins from the Cape Bird colony and Cape Hallett colony and tracking the birds throughout the winter. Dummy transmitters were successfully attached to 10 penguins at the Cape Bird Northern colony and to 8 at the Cape Hallett colony. Three different combinations of securing the transmitters were used: Tesa tape and Loctite 401, Tesa Tape and Loctite 3801, Tesa tape and both Loctitie 3801 and 401. Searches were made for the birds after they return from their winter migration at the start of the next season. One PTT was attached to a large male penguin at Cape Hallett and tracked using satellite telemetry.
