资源简介:
In coastal engineering, mangrove vegetation is typically modelled as rigid cylinders to represent their roots, trunks, and canopies. However, the geometry of mangroves varies greatly among species, ages, locations, and environmental conditions. Despite many studies on mangrove morphology, detailed geometric data for precise coastal protection models is still limited. Variations in root structures are especially critical for functions such as flow modification, sediment deposition, surface elevation changes, and wave reduction. Here, we systematically reviewed the literature to collect data on the height, diameter, and densities of roots, trunks, and canopies for 28 mangrove genera across tropical, subtropical, semi-arid, and temperate regions. This dataset aims to serve as a resource for engineers, and ecologists interested in more accurately representing specific mangrove genera in models.
