: Sustainable agricultural mechanization (SAM) design process should follow a system-oriented design approach that connects the technical, economic, and engineering aspects of machinery design with the allied service ecosystem. The associated service ecosystem should contain linkages and inter-dependencies with other sectors, which will together offer a holistic view of conducting agriculture. Consequently, designers must view SAM design from three perspectives: 1. Sustainable Product-Service System design; 2. Design for a sustainable agricultural outcome; and 3. Environmentally sustainable product design. This paper presents a comprehensive set of sustainability-oriented analysis and design guidelines for SAM, focusing on the context of developing countries with small farms. We developed the guidelines using literature from sustainable product-service system design, sustainable product design, and sustainability assessment guidelines from the agricultural domain in conjunction with an application to real-life SAM design projects. G-SAM helps in rapid sustainability assessment of the existing scenario, sustainability priority setting for the design intervention, and ideation. G-SAM focuses on all three dimensions (environmental, social, and economic) of sustainability. It has been evaluated and validated through eight different SAM problem statements in two developing country contexts. This dataset contains the supplemental material used to develop G-SAM.
