Lower American River E. coli Monitoring Results WebApp

The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board is currently collecting weekly E. coli samples along the Lower American River and near the mouth of Steelhead Creek. E. coli is a type of bacteria used to indicate fecal pollution and that pathogens may be present in the water. This map displays the most recent monitoring results. Results are compared to the statewide Bacteria Water Quality Objectives. The Bacteria Objectives are designed to protect the public from illness while participating in water-contact activities such as swimming, wading, and boating.
