Coronal Diagnostics of Intermediate Activity Star xi Boo A

The aim of this proposal is to apply to the Xray bright intermediate activitystar xi Boo A the classical plasma diagnostics of density, emission measure andabundances, and nonclassical.. optical depth diagnostics available in XMMspectra to: (i) understand both the structure of and relationship between 1 and10 MK plasma in its corona; (ii) determine the nature of its abundance anomaliesas a function of temperature; (iii) examine the stability and timedependence ofthe hot.. and cool.. coronal emission.
