The China Wastewater Treatment Plant Database is a comprehensive and critical data resource designed to support research, management and decision-making in the wastewater treatment industry. This database contains data spanning a 40-year period from 1985 to 2024, with coverage across multiple administrative levels including provinces and prefecture-level cities to meet the research needs of different scales.
The data in the database is sourced from a wide range of reliable channels, mainly statistical yearbooks and public information. It covers rich content including multiple indicators of wastewater treatment plants: the type, name, geographic location (longitude and latitude), treatment scale, process category, specific process, wastewater discharge standards, annual average concentrations of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Ammonia Nitrogen (NH₃-N) in wastewater, construction year, etc. In addition, the database specially includes information about Underground Wastewater Treatment Plants (U-WWTP), a new type of wastewater treatment facility that has become an important model for urban wastewater management.
