This dataset is associated with the upcoming paper Quantifying the Contributing Potential of European Grasslands to Food Protein and Organic Manure in a Circular Food System, published in the Journal of Grassland and Forage Science. The data is presented as a consumable grassland data cube, containing estimates of consumable grass from three types of grasslands: permanent grassland (nPG_ha), natural grassland (mPG_ha), and temporary grassland (tG_ha). The values are expressed in terms of annual average yield (DM t/ha), as detailed in the paper. These data provide key insights into the potential contributions of European grasslands to food protein production and organic manure within circular food systems.
