MS Waves in Martian Ionosphere

The data for producing Figure 2 are saved in the file ''figure2_data'', which can be restored and displayed respectively by the IDL procedure ''tplot_restore'' and ''tplot'' provided by the publicly available SPEDAS software (http://spedas.org). The variables named as ''wave_powspec'', ''wave_waveangle'', ''wave_elliptict'' are power spectral density, wave normal angle and ellipticity, respectively. The variables named as ''mvn_B_full_fac_bp_x'', ''mvn_B_full_fac_bp_y'', ''mvn_B_full_fac_bp_z'' are radial, azimuthal and field-aligned components of magnetic field in the mean field-aligned coordinate system, respectively. The data for producing Figure 4 are saved in the file ''figure4_data'', which can be restored by the IDL procedure ''restore''. The proton velocity distributions, wave growth rates and wave power spectral densities are stored in the variable ''proton_psd'', ''growth_rate'' and ''wave_power'', respectively.
