Exploring Therapeutic Strategies for Reflux Esophagitis through Esophageal Microbiota Modulation: Mechanisms of Vonoprazan Fumarate, Probiotics, and Fecal Microbiota

Currently, medication is the primary approach for treating reflux esophagitis, but long-term use may lead to certain side effects. In recent years, research has shown that gut microbiota is closely related to the development of various diseases. As the esophagus serves as a passage connecting the mouth and stomach, its microbial composition may also influence the occurrence of reflux esophagitis. To explore safer and more effective treatment methods, our team has initiated this research. Using a rat model of reflux esophagitis, we aim to investigate the relationship between esophageal microbiota and reflux esophagitis by administering interventions such as vonoprazan fumarate, fecal microbiota transplantation, or supplementation with different probiotics.
