Enexis Open Data

**Introduction**

Enexis Netbeheer is responsible for constructing and maintaining the energy grid in the Enexis area. This work generates a significant amount of information and energy data. To encourage innovation, some of this data is made available as open data, contributing to the energy transition. Enexis operates in Groningen, Drenthe, Noord-Brabant en Limburg. The data product consists of asset, grid, usage and point of interest datasets.

**Asset data**

The Open Asset Data includes various assets to give a complete geographic view of the Enexis network, making it useful for many analysis purposes. These assets include gas and electricity infrastructure such as stations, connection cabinets, mains, connection lines, high-rise connection points, public lighting cabinets, street furniture, and charging points.

Electricity Infrastructure:

- **Electricity Connection Cabinets:** Points and areas for managing electricity connections.
- **Low Voltage Public Lighting Cabinets:** Points and areas for public lighting controls.
- **Medium Voltage Stations:** Points and areas for medium voltage and low voltage electricity stations.
- **Low Voltage Cables:** Cables distributing low voltage electricity.
- **Low Voltage Connection Cables:** Cables connecting individual properties to the low voltage network.
- **Low Voltage High-Rise Connection Points:** Specific connection points for high-rise buildings.
- **Low Voltage Connections:** General connections to the low voltage network.
- **Low Voltage Street Furniture:** Electrified street furniture.
- **Low Voltage Charging Stations:** Electric vehicle charging points.
- **Public Lighting Connections:** Connections for public lighting.

**Grid data**

This dataset comprises the basic location data of Enexis Netbeheer's electricity networks. It includes the positions of all electricity transmission cables and key stations (such as transformer stations) owned by Enexis Netbeheer.

The dataset includes location data for connections and stations, categorized by voltage levels, each forming different subsets:

- **HS (High Voltage):** Voltage levels ≥ 50 kV.
- **MS (Medium Voltage):** Voltage levels ≥ 400 V and < 50 kV.
- **MS/LS Transition Point:** Points where medium voltage transitions to low voltage.
- **LS (Low Voltage):** Voltage levels < 400 V.

**Usage data**

The dataset includes aggregated consumption data for all small consumer connections (KV) within the service area of the network operator. To ensure privacy, data is aggregated so that each row represents a minimum of ten connections, potentially merging multiple postal codes.

The dataset provides valuable insights into consumption patterns and the distribution of small consumer connections, facilitating analysis and planning for energy management and infrastructure development.

Each row contains the following elements:

- **NETBEHEERDER:** EAN code of the regional network operator.
- **NETGEBIED:** Description of the closed purchase area for a connection.
- **STRAATNAAM:** Street name associated with POSTCODE_VAN.
- **POSTCODE_VAN:** Starting postal code (format: 4 digits, 2 letters, no space).
- **POSTCODE_TOT:** End postal code (same format), merged for privacy if fewer than 10 connections.
- **WOONPLAATS:** City name associated with POSTCODE_VAN.
- **LANDCODE:** "NL" (Netherlands ISO code 3166 alpha-2).
- **PRODUCTSOORT:** Energy type ("ELK" for electricity, "GAS" for gas).
- **VERBRUIKSSEGMENT:** Small consumer segment (electricity connections ≤ 3x80 amps, gas connections ≤ G25).
- **AANSLUITINGEN_AANTAL:** Number of connections in the postal code area for the specified energy type.
- **LEVERINGSRICHTING_PERC:** Percentage of connections with net energy or gas consumption, adjusted for energy generation (e.g., solar panels).
- **FYSIEKE_STATUS_PERC:** Percentage of active connections; others may be under construction, inactive, or demolished.
- **SOORT_AANSLUITING_PERC:** Percentage of the most common connection type based on capacity.
- **SOORT_AANSLUITING:** Name of the most common connection type.
- **SJA_GEMIDDELD:** Average standard annual uptake (SJA) in kWh for electricity or m³ for gas.
- **SJA_LAAG_TARIEF_PERC:** Percentage of connections with dual tariffs.
- **SLIMME_METER_PERC:** Percentage of smart meters across all generations.
