Porodaedalea pini strain:BCRC 35384 Genome sequencing and assembly

Porodaedalea pini is a basidiomycete wood decomposing fungus that causes red ring rot of conifers in North America. It is the most common cause of heartwood decay in Engelmann spruce, lodgepole pine and subalpine fir, reducing timber harvest and causing potential hazard of sudden tree falls in recreational areas. We produced draft genome assemblies of Phellinus pini, as well as three other members of the Hymenochaetales order, including Phellinus lamaensis, Phellinus sulphurascens and Phellinus noxius.
