Whole-transcriptome sequencing of Pine Caterpillar Moth

Insect population dynamics are closely related with ecologic and economic environments of human beings, and outbreak is the central item of insect population dynamic researches. Lack of the molecular basis researches restrict our understanding of the intrinsic mechanisms of insect outbreak. Dendrolimus punctatus Walker is periodically outbreak species and good model to research forest insect outbreak mechanisms. Thus, high-throughput whole-transcriptome sequencing were performed to systemically explore the molecular basis of insect outbreak, and to identify the noncoding regulators, including lncRNAs, circRNAs, and miRNAs.
