Photograph of a group of diners attending a celebration for the California Eagle on April 3, 1947, at an unidentified location in Los Angeles. Dinner guests include Monsignor Thomas O'Dwyer, seated in the left row, third from the back, and Ben Margolis, seated at the end of the right row, partially hidden behind a woman's hat. O'Dwyer advocated for better housing for the poor. Margolis was a prominent civil rights attorney whose clients included the defendants in the Sleepy Lagoon murder trial and the Hollywood Ten.
