Knowledge Input-Output Table (KIO)

The Knowledge Input-Output Table (KIO) provides information on patenting information drawn from the Autumn 2022 version of the EPO Worldwide Patent Statistical Database (PATSTAT). For each of the ten most frequent patenting countries (plus the Rest of the World), it provides information on the number of patents applications filed and granted by decade and 3-digit CPC technology. In addition, per triad-pair, it provides information on the number of citations. Data are provided in .dta format. Input-Output Table (KIO) was built as part of the EU-funded research project 'Rethinking Global Supply Chains: Measurement, Impact and Policy' (RETHINK-GSC; https://rethink-gsc.eu/), which captures the impact of knowledge flows and service inputs in global supply chains (GSCs).
