The Danes, Islam and Muslims, 2010
收藏资源简介:
Since the 9/11 attacks in 2001 and the cartoon controversy in 2005, the focus have shifted from the Danes’ attitudes towards immigration to their opinions on Islam and Muslims. While the Danes’ attitudes towards immigration often have been examined less is known about their opinion on Islam and Muslims. The vast majority of surveys have focused on the attitudes towards immigration without focusing on the religion of the immigrants. A new survey conducted on behalf of Centre for Studies in Islamism and Radicalisation in December 2010 examines how the Danes feel about certain questions regarding Islam and Muslims. The interviews which where conducted among 1007 randomly selected, representative respondents where focused on the following themes: The personal attitude of the respondents towards Islam and Muslims. How the respondents assess the attitudes of the Danish authorities and population towards Islam and Muslims. How the respondents understand the concept of “Islamophobia” and how often it occurs in the Danish society.
